Children's pet parade, annual Labor Day parade, and fall festival on Monday, 9/5

Labor Day weekend in Louisville is the biggest community celebration of the year. Don't miss the chance to come together with friends and neighbors to experience a weekend celebrating the community spirit of Louisville as we enjoy being back together again.


2022 Labor Day Children's Pet Parade
Monday, September 5, 2022 at 9 AM

The Pet Parade is always a hit with the crowd, so get your animal friends ready to join the fun! Dogs, cats, goats, alpacas, stuffed animals, pet rocks... all are welcome!

Please complete your parade application in advance so the parade can start on time and run smoothly. Applications due by 5 PM on Wednesday, August 31


86th Annual Labor Day Parade: "Happiness is..."

Monday, September 5 at 10am

Parade returns to Main Street!

Main Street has remained open to traffic this year, and the Labor Day Parade returns to its old route. The parade will run south down Main Street. A full map of the parade route and road closures will be available closer to Labor Day.

Road closures

To allow for a safe parade, multiple roads will be closed from 7 AM to 3 PM on Monday, September 5, 2022.

Parade Participants

March in the Labor Day Parade! Walking, biking, unicycling, driving, and horseback entries are welcome. Please decorate your vehicles and floats or wear something to showcase this year's theme, "Happiness Is...". 

Now accepting applications for parade participants! Applications due by 5 PM on Friday, August 19. Late or day-of entries will not be accepted. The number of parade entries may be limited depending on the number received. Get your application in soon as it's first come, first served. 

Parade order and a reminder about Parade Participant FAQs and Safety Guidelines will be emailed the week before the parade.


Fall Festival at Memory Square Park

Monday, September 5 from 9am-3pm

Join us for a Fall Festival celebration from 9 AM - 3PM at Memory Square Park on Monday, September 5. We will have local artists, charming crafts, and delicious foods to purchase, and an assortment of food trucks for meals and treats. 

Family favorites "Paige and Jeff" are performing, and a magician and bounce houses will entertain the kids.

Annual Bocce Tournament

Saturday, September 3

The Annual Bocce Tournament will take place in Memory Square Park on Saturday, September 3, 2022. The tournament will be made up of 16 teams of two players per team. The entry fee will be $20 per team. All entry fees that are collected will go to the top four teams. Please show up at 8:30 AM for check in and rules presentation.
