Project Hopscotch: A New Way For Families to Experience Art

By Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority September 23, 2021

This fall, many are choosing to skip, instead of stroll, through the streets of Old Town Lafayette.

Old Town Lafayette has kicked off Project Hopscotch, a one-of-a-kind hopscotch experience that is free for those who are young-at-heart. Experience 10 custom hopscotch courses, situated throughout downtown Lafayette and designed by local artists Denise Chaudhari, Tif Choate, Ingrid Husby and Ruth Meere

Created to bring the community together and encourage exploration, Project Hopscotch will also benefit a local art student. For every QR code scanned at each hopscotch course, the Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority will donate $1 towards a scholarship fund, up to $2,000, that benefits a local art student.

The courses will open to the public from September 15 through October 15, 2021. Find out more about Project Hopscotch and download the map to find all 10 courses at  HopscotchLafayette.com. Information about Project Hopscotch is available in Spanish and English. These works of art are more than show, so come and play.
