The best invention EVER!

*Sponge Bob and Dora will be available this spring!*

My youngest daughter, 7, has been afraid of the dark for sometime. Every night she had to have ALL the lights in her room on. This included: 2 flower lights attached to the wall above her bed (we purchased these thinking they would be enough light...not), a large lamp (like what you would normally have in a living room) on her night stand, and a small lamp with a blue bulb at the end of her bed. And, she had to have the hallway light on and her door open. My mom would joke that the airplanes would mistake her room for a landing strip. Yes, it really was that bright in there...daylight bright.

I was walking through a local retailer and saw the Jasco Projectables LED Night Light. It is a small round sphere which projects a scene onto the wall or ceiling. They have three scenes available: fairy/castle, solar system, and tropical fish. I decided on the fairy/castle because my 7 year-olds rooms is ALL princesses. I was hoping this was the answer we had been looking for.

My daughter was SUPER excited when I took her into the bathroom (darkest room in the house..no windows) and showed her how it would project the picture on the ceiling. That night we plugged it in. It required a little moving of furniture so that nothing blocked the image. The secret to this night light is that it needs to be dark in order to REALLY see the image.

She let me turn off ALL the lights in her room. And, she let me close her door to a mere crack! I was sure I would hear, "Mom, can you turn on more lights?" sometime during the night, but I didn't!! She has been sleeping with only the projection night light for the past several weeks. Ahhh, one parenting issue solved. Now, to go tackle the rest. :)
