Do you know that even fish go to school? I discovered this recyclable craft in a teacher's classroom and knew I had to bring it to you. Thanks, Mrs. Medlen!

Supplies:
Plastic bottles - cleaned and dried
Acrylic paint
Permanent makers (can be used instead of paint)
Googly eyes (if desired) and glue
Scissors - regular and kitchen shears (for adult use ONLY)
Stapler
Push pin
Fishing line
Small piece of scrap plastic from bottle

Directions:
1. Cut bottom 1/3rd of bottle off using regular scissors

2. Paint or draw on inside of bottle. For spots, stripes, etc. use a darker color leaving empty spaces. All allow the darker color to dry completely. Paint the entire inside with a lighter color. Allow to dry.

3. Cut the tail fins and gills of the fish using regular scissors.

4. Use the kitchen shears (adults ONLY) to cut off the neck of the bottle where the lid screws on. Cut two triangles out of the sides of the circle, if desired.

5. Glue on googly eyes or draw on eyes with permanent marker or paint.

6. Staple the body of the fish near the tail fins so that the back half of the fish lays flat.

7. Use the push pin to create a small hole in the top of the fish and in the small scrap of plastic.

8. Tie the fishing line onto the small piece of plastic. Thread the loose end through the body of the fish and up through the hole in the fish body. The scrap of plastic will prevent the fishing line from slipping out of the fish.

Now you are ready to hang your fishy friend.
